The latest entry in the film franchise begun with Richard Rich’s 1994 hit The Swan Princess will take fans back in time to see how the enchanting story began in The Swan Princess: A Fairy Tale Is Born. The CG-animated, 83-minute family pic will be available to own on Digital and DVD on May 23, from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.
Synopsis: Travel back to the beginning of a 20-year Swan Princess journey to see how it all began! Before becoming queen, Uberta lived a humble life with her husband Maximillian when she is suddenly thrust into royalty. Through triumph and tragedy, she learns the lessons needed to become a beloved Queen, all while raising the next generation of rulers. When it’s time for Uberta to pass the royal scepter to Odette and Derek, rival Queen Wixom has plans of her own to ruin the kingdom’s greatest coronation.
The Swan Princess: A Fairy Tale Is Born features the voices of franchise stars Nina Herzog and Yuri Lowenthal. The new pic is directed once again by Rich, reconnecting with original screenplay writer and story collaborator Brian Nissen. Producers are Rich, Seldon O. Young and Jared F. Brown.
