A familiar furry friend is ready to begin his next animated chapter in Tummy Tom, a new film series (4 x 60′ or 13 x 5′) based on the bestselling Dutch children’s books. Produced by Phanta Animation and BosBros, the first footage from the launch film Tummy Tom’s Teddybear has been unveiled for the Cannes Film Festival and Market.
“We are really looking forward to this year’s Marché du Film, where we’ll we be presenting our stellar slate of kids and prime content,” Daniëlle Raaphorst, CEO of Incredible Film, the international Dutch and Flemish content distributor handling sales for the film series. “With a varied mix consisting lead by Tummy Tom, our projects represent what Incredible Films has to offer and we look forward to sharing these stories with buyers at the market.”
Slated for delivery in 2024, Tummy Tom’s Teddybear sees the charming cat discover a shocking problem: Bear is missing! Bear is his favorite cuddly toy, and it must be found. Luckily, Tummy Tom gets help from his best friend, Cat Mouse.
A very popular children’s character in The Netherlands, and beyond, Tummy Tom first appeared on the local version of Sesame Street in 1978. he books by Jet Boeke were first published by Gottmer in 1983, and have since sold millions of copies.
