This year’s Fredrikstad Animation Festival (October 19-22) will welcome Norwegian film producer John M. Jacobsen as Guest of Honor and winner of the 2023 Lifetime Achievement Award. Jacobsen is being recognized for his contributions to the animation film industry, as well as his efforts to elevate the importance of visual effects in Norwegian cinema.
Throughout his extensive career, Jacobsen is primarily known as a significant producer. Since his debut with Prima Vera’s Saga about Olav the Holy in 1983, followed by Hard Asphalt (1986) and Pathfinder (1987), he has produced over 40 titles spanning over four decades.
