Annecy Awards Nine Special Prizes for Animation and VR Projects

The 2023 Annecy International Animation Film Festival began to wind down Friday, with the Special Prizes ceremony held at the Centre Bonlieu. Preceding the official film competition awards (to be announced Saturday night), these honors are determined by the Festival’s partners across a variety of categories. The nine winners are:

City of Annecy Award — Island by Michael Faust (Studio Potemkin | Israel)

Festivals Connexion VR Award — From the Main Square by Pedro Harres (Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf | Germany)

Festivals Connexion Award — Maurice’s Bar by Tom Prezman & Tzor Edery (Sacrebleu Productions | France, Israel)

André Martin Award for a French Short Film — The Purple Season by Clémence Bouchereau (Bandini Films | France)

Best Original Music Award for a Feature Film — The Siren, music by by Erik Truffaz (Les Films d’Ici, Katuh Studio, BAC Cinema, Lunanime, Trickstudio Lutterbeck | Germany, Belgium, France, Luxembourg)

Best Original Music Award for a Short Film — 27, music by Committee / Mári Mákó & Rozi Mákó (Boddah, Miyu Productions | France, Hungary)

Young Audience Award — To Be Sisters by Clément Céart & Anne-Sophie Gousset (Folimage, Les Armateurs | France)

Canal+ Junior Jury Award — Pete by Bret Parker (Artfarm Productions | U.S.)

France TV Award for a Short Film — Nun or Never! by Heta Jäälinoja (Böhle Studios | Finland)
