‘Skull Island’ Trailer Unleashes Monstrous Animated Action

Skull Island

The worlds of iconic movie monsters and action-packed TV animation collide in the new trailer for Skull Island, premiering globally on June 22, exclusively on Netflix. Following the first-look and full cast announcement last month, Kong fans can now get a more immersive look at this new survival adventure in the official trailer.

The 2D-animated series, produced by Legendary Television, unfolds as a group of kind-hearted explorers rescues Annie from the ocean, unaware that their act of heroism will lead them to the treacherous Skull Island. This enigmatic place is home to bizarre creatures and terrifying monsters, including the mighty titan himself, Kong.

The ensemble cast features Nicolas Cantu (Dragons Rescue Riders: Heroes of the Sky, The Fabelmans) as the voice of the protagonist, Charlie; Mae Whitman (Family Guy, DC Super Hero Girls) as Annie; Darren Barnet (Never Have I Ever, Samurai Rabbit: The Usagi Chronicles) as Mike; Benjamin Bratt as Cap (Poker Face, Coco); and Betty Gilpin (Mrs. Davis, Glow) as Irene.

Skull Island is created, written and executive produced by Brian Duffield (Cocaine Bear, Love and Monsters). Jacob Robinson, Brad Graeber, Jen Chambers and Thomas Tull also serve as executive producers. The animation is produced by Powerhouse Animation, known for their work on hit series such as Castlevania and Blood of Zeus.
