Having already taken pioneering strides with its 2018 film Allahyar and the Legend of Markhor, the first animated feature produced entirely in the Unreal Engine, Islamabad-based 3rd World Studios has tackled another first with its action-packed sci-fi sequel. According to the producers, Allahyar and the 100 Flowers of God is the first stereoscopic 3D animated feature produced in Pakistan.
The first Allahyar movie follows the titular young protagonist and a motley crew of endangered species animals (Mehru the markhor goat, Hero the chukar partridge and Chak’ku the snow leopared) caught up in an unbelievable adventure that sheds light on illegal wildlife hunting. In Allahyar and the 100 Flowers of God, Allyahar and the unflappable Hero set out to solve the mystery of the disappearing trees in the Chinnar forest, and find themselves transported to a remarkable high-tech world where they team up with new friends to save Allahyar’s father from a race of wood-poaching robots.
Written and directed once again by Uzair Zaheer Khan, Executive Producer of 3rd World Studios, Allahyar and the 100 Flowers of God features a voice cast packed with Pakistani star power, featuring Humayun Saeed, Ali Zafar, Iqra Aziz, Meera, Bushra Ansari, Nadia Jamil, Anum Zaidi, Azlan Uzair and Azfar Jafri.
Released in 3D across Pakistan in late June, for Eid al-Adha, the film was created in a custom pipeline combining motion-capture technology, again utilizing Unreal Engine for much of the production.
