Love is in the air in this week’s new episodes of Freeform’s original adult animated comedy Praise Petey, which you can preview in two new clips below. Created, written and executive produced by Anna Drezen (former head writer of Saturday Night Live), the series centers on a former New York City “It Girl” trying to come to grips with her new role as the leader of the rural cult she inherits from her deceased father.
Episodes 5 and 6 premiere today (Friday, August 4) at 10 p.m. ET / 9 p.m. CT on Freeform, streaming the next day on Hulu:
Episode 5: “Barn Wedding”
Petey and Eliza scheme to bring an honest income to New Utopia by renting out barns as wedding venues for the Manhattan elite. When her ex Brian is their first client, Petey scrambles to make it the perfect night — and to make him jealous.
Episode 6: “Not-Sad Adult Birthday”
It’s Petey’s birthday, also known as Crowning Day to the inhabitants of New Utopia. Petey is disappointed to learn that the celebrations are more about White instead of her. Eliza and Bandit both have surprises for Petey.
Praise Petey is led by a stellar voice cast led by Annie Murphy (Schitt’s Creek), Christine Baranski (The Good Fight), Stephen Root (Barry), John Cho (Star Trek) and Kiersey Clemmons (The Flash).
In addition to Dresden, the series is executive produced by Bandera Entertainment’s Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and Dustin Davis, along with ShadowMachine’s Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico (Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio) and Monica Padrick (Central Park). The series is produced by Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television Animation, with animation by ShadowMachine.
