The teaser trailer for Scavengers Reign, Max’s new adult animated series released today. The show debuts with three episodes on Thursday, October 19 at midnight PT, followed by three episodes weekly through November 9 on Max. Created by Joe Bennett and Charles Huettner, based on their short film Scavengers (watch on YouTube), the series is a haunting journey across an alien planet where slightest ecological imbalance can have drastic consequences.
Synopsis: The remaining crew of a damaged interstellar freighter ship find themselves stranded on a beautiful yet unforgiving alien planet — where they must survive long enough to escape or be rescued. But as the survivors struggle to locate their downed ship and missing crewmates, their new home reveals a hostile world allowed to thrive without human interference.
Featuring lush, visually stunning animation, Scavengers Reign presents a wholly unique view of the consequences of unchecked hubris and humanity’s eternal desire to conquer the unknown.
Scavengers Reign features the voices of Wunmi Mosaku as Azi, Bob Stephenson as Sam, Sunita Mani as Ursula, Ted Travelstead as Kamen and Alia Shawkat as Levi.
The show is executive produced by Chris Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, Shannon Prynoski and Ben Kalina from award-winning animation studio Titmouse (Big Mouth, Star Trek: Lower Decks, The Legend of Vox Machina); Joe Bennett, Charles Huettner, as well as co-executive producers Sean Buckelew and James Merrill and supervising director Benjy Brooke from Green Street Pictures.
Founded in 2020 by Bennett, Merrill, Buckelew and Brooke, Green Street Pictures is a full service independent animation studio based in Los Angeles. In addition to Scavengers Reign, the studio’s original production slate also includes the upcoming Common Side Effects for Adult Swim, announced at Annecy.
