DC Holiday Special ‘Merry Little Batman’ Sets Prime Premiere Date

Amazon’s Prime Video has picked a date for the DC animated special Merry Little Batman, which will join the streamer’s 2023 advent calendar on December 8. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the family-friendly caper will be available in more than 240 countries and territories world wide.

Synopsis: When young Damian Wayne finds himself alone in Wayne Manor on Christmas Eve, he must transform into “Little Batman” in order to defend his home and Gotham City from the crooks and supervillains intent on destroying the holidays.

Merry Little Batman is directed by Mike Roth (Regular Show) from a screenplay by Morgan Evans (Teen Titans Go!). Roth also serves as executive producer, alongside Sam Register.

The voice cast is led by Yonas Kibreab (Pupstruction, Pretty Freekin Scary, Sweet Tooth) as Damian, with Luke Wilson (Fired on Mars, Stargirl), James Cromwell (Big Hero 6: The Series, Succession) and David Hornsby (DC Super Hero Girls, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia).

All voice recording and writing for the special were concluded prior to SAG-AFTRA and WGA strikes.

Originally slated for the former HBO Max, Merry Little Batman was picked up by Prime Video back in April, alongside Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams and Matt Reed’s Batman: Caped Crusader and the comedy-adventure Bat-Family, which picks up with Damian and the Wayne Manor crew after the events of Merry Little Batman.
