FOX-TV Moves ‘Family Guy’ to Wednesday Nights to Make Room for ‘Grimsburg’

There’s going to be a little shake-up in FOX-TV’s Sunday night ‘Animation Domination’ lineup next year. FOX is moving Family Guy from its current Sunday night at 9:30 p.m. spot to Wednesday nights at 9:30 p.m., pairing with the live-action sitcom Animal Control. That’s so the new animated show Grimsburg (exec produced and voiced by Jon Hamm) can move to the Sunday night 9:30 spot, following The Great North at 9 p.m.

Grimsburg is produced by FOX Entertainment’s Emmy-winning animation studio, Bento Box Entertainment. Chadd Gindin is executive producer and showrunner. Jon Hamm, Gail Berman, Hend Baghdady and Connie Tavel are executive producers. Catlan McClelland and Matthew Schlissel created the series and serve as co-executive producers.

The show centers on a private eye named Marvin Flute (Hamm)  who returns to his hometown of Grimsburg, where everyone has a secret or three. In addition to Hamm, the series also features the voices of Kevin Michael Richardson, Alan Tudyk, Greg Chun, Erinn Hayes, Rachel Dratch. The series gets a special sneak preview premiere on Sunday, Jan. 7th after the NFL game (around 8 p.m.). Then, it officially joins the line-up on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 9 p.m., followed by the fourth season of The Great North.

Family Guy last aired on a weeknight during the 2001-02 season when it started Fox’s Thursday night shows, before it was canceled and then revived in 2005.
