Netflix Reveals ‘Scott Pilgrim Takes Off’ Guest Stars, Japanese VO Trailer

Netflix this weekend announced a line up of special guest stars who voice new characters in the anime series Scott Pilgrim Takes Off, which is streaming now on the platform. The guest stars join the previously announced all-star cast of Edgar Wright’s live-action adaptation of the Bryan Lee O’Malley comics, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, who all returned to voice their original characters.

The streamer also debuted new key art for the highly anticipated series, which debuted to a perfect 100% critics’ score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The eight-episode series sees Scott Pilgrim meets the girl of his dreams, Ramona Flowers, and discovers he must defeat her seven evil exes in order to date her. But this time, things get even more complicated. Scott Pilgrim Takes Off revisits and reimagines the beloved cult classic graphic novels by O’Malley, taking Ramona Flowers, her evil exes, Scott, and his friends off on a mysterious new action-packed journey to find love.

Produced by UCP (a division of Universal Studio Group) and animated by Science SARU in Japan (Devilman Crybaby, Inu-Oh) under the supervision of director Abel Góngora, the show is headed by executive producers/showrunners O’Malley and BenDavid Grabinksi. Also serving as exec producers are Marc Platt, Jared LeBoff and Adam Siegel for Marc Platt Productions;  Michael Bacall; Edgar Wright and Nira Park for Complete Fiction; and Eunyoung Choi for Science SARU. Original Songs by Anamanaguchi; score by Anamanaguchi and Joseph Trapanese.
