‘Demon Slayer’ Dates Theatrical Tour Ahead of ‘Hashira Training Arc’ Debut

The supernatural hitmakers behind the Demon Slayer: Kitmetsu no Yaiba anime franchise will be kicking of 2024 with a World Tour of screenings for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba -To the Hashira Training– — a theatrical recap of leading into the anime series’ new storyline. The TV adaptation of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Hashira Training Arc is slated to make it broadcast debut in Sping 2024.

-To the Hashira Training- will include both the finale episode of the Swordsmith Village Arc as well as the one-hour premiere episode of Hashira Training Arc — all upscaled to 4K and with music specially mixed for cinema engagements. The World Tour will stop off in 140 countries, beginning in Tokyo (Feb. 3, TOHO Cinema Hibiya), and is scheduled to screen in 377 regular movie theaters and 50 IMAX theaters.

Additionally, 10 cities around the world will host live stage events for Demon Slayer World Tour 2024:

Based on the manga created by Koyoharu Gotoge, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba is set in Taisho Period Japan: Tanjiro, a kindhearted boy who sells charcoal for a living, finds his family slaughtered by a demon. To make matters worse, his younger sister Nezuko, the sole survivor, has been transformed into a demon herself. Though devastated by this grim reality, Tanjiro resolves to become a “demon slayer” so that he can turn his sister back into a human, and kill the demon that massacred his family.

The anime series, produced and written by studio Ufotable and directed by Haruo Sotozaki, premiered in 2019 and has run for 55 episodes. The franchise has spawnend the global blockbuster movie Mugen Train (2020) and a previous recap theatrical event, To the Swordsmith Village (2023).
