Today, the Producers Guild of America (PGA) announced the nominees in the Sports, Children’s and Short Form categories that will advance to the final round of voting for the PGA Awards. Winners will be announced in Los Angeles and New York at the Guild’s nominee events the week of February 19. Exact dates and location will be announced soon.
The shows nominated for Outstanding Children’s Program (the PGA does not vet the individual producers of the categories announced today) are the R.L. Stine adaptation Goosebumps S1 (Disney+/Hulu), animated prequel Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai S1 (Max), perennial puppet classic Sesame Street S53 (Max), the Star Wars misfit clone adventure The Bad Batch S2 (Disney+) and live-action/CG hybrid special The Velveteen Rabbit (Apple TV+).

The remaining nominations, including for Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, Theatrical Motion Pictures, Television Series/Specials, Limited or Anthology Series Television and Televised or Streamed Motion Pictures will be announced Thursday, January 12. Winners of these categories will be announced at the Producers Guild Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 25.
The PGA also this week announced the opening of the application period for the PGA Innovation Award, recognizing “a noteworthy, impactful emerging media program that significantly elevates the audience’s experience” that challenges “the limits of standard formats.”
“As co-chairs of the jury, we are on the lookout for visionary projects that redefine the boundaries of entertainment. The PGA Innovation Award is a tribute to those who dare to dream beyond convention, pushing the industry towards new horizons,” said jury leaders Joanna Popper, Eric Shamlin and Chris Thomes. “We invite everyone working in interactive or immersive media to submit their project for consideration in this prestigious award.”
The producers of VR, AR, experiential and other interactive/immersive media projects released between January 1, 2023 and December 31, 2023 are invited to submit by the deadline of January 10, 2024.
