Aardman Plans to Expand the World of ‘Robin Robin’ with New Projects, Say Directors

The stop-motion holiday adventure Robin Robin could soon be building out its nest with new content from acclaimed British studio Aardman Animations. Dan Ojari and Mikey Please, co-writer/directors of the half-hour musical and co-founders of Parabella Studios, told Variety in a recent interview: “We are currently working on more stories in the world of Robin, Robin … I think that’s all we’re allowed to say. But that would certainly be our hopes and dreams. We feel like there are loads more stories to tell in this world, so we’d love to do more.”

Released through Netflix in 2021 and nominated for the Best Animated Short Oscar as well as the Animation award from the Children’s BAFTAs, Robin Robin centers on a little bird who was raised by a family of mice after her egg accidentally rolled into a rubbish dump. As she grows up and her differences become more apparent, Robin determines to pull a grand heist of the “Who-Mans” house to prove she is as sneaky as any mouse, but ends up discovering who she really is. The film starred Bronte Carmichael as Robin, Richard E. Grant as Magpie, Gillian Anderson as Cat and Adeel Akhtar as Dad Mouse.
