Trailer: ‘Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back’ Hits Aussie Theaters in February

Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back

The dynamic animal-hero duo Combat Wombat and her sugar-glider sidekick Sweetie are leaping back into action in Australian cinemas on February 29 in Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back. Below you can watch the official trailer for the film, a sequel to 2020’s Combat Wombat, from the Tales from Sanctuary City animated film franchise created by female-led Australian production company Like A Photon Creative.

The colorful CG-animated action-adventure features the voices of Deborah Mailman (The New Boy, 2067, The Sapphires, Bran Nue Dae) and Ed Oxenbould (Paper Planes; Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day; The Visit) as Maggie Diggins (a.k.a. Combat Wombat) and her sidekick Sweetie, along with acclaimed Australian actor David Wenham (Elvis, The Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales), Elizabeth Cullen (The Bureau of Magical Things, Bali 2002, Elvis), Mark Coles Smith (Last Cab to Darwin, Picnic at Hanging Rock, Sweet As), Dan Brumm (Bluey) and Grant Denyer (Daisy Quokka: World’s Scariest Animal).

Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back

Synopsis: Life has become a little too demanding for Maggie Diggins, a.k.a. Combat Wombat. Whilst the Sanctuary City crime rate is at an all-time low, she’s now expected to spend her days helping unclog drains instead of saving the world! But when evil tech genius Lenny Glick threatens to trap the whole city in a ‘perfect’ metaverse simulation, Combat Wombat and her sidekick Sweetie must work together to save the day.

Combat Wombat: Back 2 Back  will open in Australian cinemas on February 29 and in New Zealand on March 7.
