Minions Make AI Mischief in ‘Despicable Me 4’ Big Game Spot

In new preview ad generated for coveted Super Bowl air time, Illumination’s little yellow troublemakers are on the cutting edge of creative tech. The spot for the upcoming sequel, Despicable Me 4, ran ahead of the National Anthem and sees the Minions hard at work goofing up some AI-generated artwork.

Adding some Hollywood gravitas to the artificial intelligence silliness is narrator Jon Hamm (Mad Men, Grimsburg).

In the first Despicable Me title in seven years, Gru, the world’s favorite supervillain-turned-Anti-Villain League-agent, returns for an exciting, bold new era of Minions mayhem Despicable Me 4 will open in theaters through Universal Pictures on July 3.

Check out the previously released official trailer, which debuted during the AFC championship, here.
