Superprod Group and Vivement Lundi! are proud to announce the production of Harrison and Me, a 52 x 11′ 2D-animated comedy for five- to eight-year olds which raises awareness for young viewers about the need to take action for our environment every day. Loosely based on the books The Zero Waste Family by Bénédicte Moret and Jérémie Pichon, published by Thierry Souccar, the series is directed by Jean Duval and Abdelraouf Zaidi.
“We are delighted to announce the launch of Harrison and Me,” says Camille Serceau, Producer at Superprod Animation. “This series represents a new chapter in our mission to create series that entertain but also inspire young minds. We firmly believe that this new production will not only captivate children, but also encourage them to reflect on their relationship with nature and their impact on the environment.”
Aurélie Angebault, Producer at Vivement Lundi!, adds, “Harrison and Me is the result of a fruitful collaboration between our two studios, and we look forward to sharing this unique series. This series, which combines humor and ecological awareness, is a perfect example of our commitment to quality entertainment for children.”
Created for television by Angebault and Serceau, with the participation of Nathalie Dargent and Matthieu Chevalier, this new series recounts the adventures of Harrison, an organic and vegetal being, who comes into the lives of Charlie (6 1⁄2), her brother Zach (11) and their friends Bintou (11) and Léon (6). By welcoming and caring for Harrison, the gang of friends take initiative, discover how to act for the planet in their daily lives as children, and more broadly how to reconnect with nature.
Currently in production, the series is being produced in Charente and Brittany, and is supported by the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, the Charente Department, the Brittany Region and Rennes Métropole. France Télévisions, the series’ development partner, will broadcast the series, as will RTS and TV5. Superights is responsible for international sales of the series worldwide.
“Having a good friend is great. When it’s Harrison, it’s even better!” comments Jean-Baptiste Lamotte, Head of Children’s Programming and Animation, France Télévisions. “Follow the journey of a family as original as they are sensitive to the environmental cause, and do as Zach, Charlie, do: reconnect with nature! Harrison and Me questions our relationship with nature, helps us to adopt the right eco-citizen gestures!”
