New ‘The Garfield Movie’ Posters Spotlight a Menagerie of Characters

Sony Pictures today released a batch of new character posters for The Garfield Movie, spotlighting the famous comic-strip cat and his well known pals, as well as a kennel’s worth of furry friends and foes mixing it up in the new CG-animated feature. Featuring a stellar voice cast led by Chris Pratt as Garfield and Samuel L. Jackson as his never-before-seen father, Vic, the movie sinks its claws into theaters on May 24.

The poster images also feature the pampered Persian, Jinx (voiced by Hannah Waddingham); Otto the bull (Ving Rhames); Jon, Garfield’s hapless human (Nicholas Hoult); human tough Marge (Cecily Strong); Odie, Garfield’s canine housemate (Harvey Guillén); big dog Roland (Brett Goldstein); scrappy pup Nolan (Bowen Yang); and “A Cat” (Snoop Dogg).

Synopsis: Garfield (voiced by Chris Pratt), the world-famous, Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat, is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father — scruffy street cat Vic (voiced by Samuel L. Jackson) — Garfield and his canine friend Odie are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

The Garfield Movie is directed by Mark Dindal (Cats Don’t Dance, The Emperor’s New Groove, Chicken Little) from a screenplay by Paul A. Kaplan & Mark Torgove and David Reynolds, based on the Garfield characters created by Jim Davis.

Executive producers are Jim Davis, Bridget McMeel, David Reynolds, Scott Parish, Carl Rogers, Tom Jacomb, Crosby Clyse, Chris Pflug, Simon Hedges, Louis Koo, Steve Sarowitz, Justin Baldoni and Peter Luo.
