Stephanie Beatriz, Tim Meadows Board Animated Sci-Fi Flick ‘Harry and the Mutant Mid-Century Furniture’

Stephanie Beatriz (Encanto, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) and Tim Meadows (Mean Girls, Bob’s Burgers) have been cast in key roles for the upcoming animated comedy/sci-fi movie Harry and the Mutant Mid-Century Furniture (HMMCF), directed by Michael Skolnick (The Gliksmans) in his animated feature debut.

Beatriz and Meadows will be joining a cast which already includes Andy Richter (Conan, Madagascar) and Matt Walsh (Veep, Flamin’ Hot), who will also serve as creative producers, as well as Seth Green (Family Guy, Robot Chicken), Pamela Adlon (Better Things, King of the Hill), Lou Ferrigno (The Incredible Hulk, King of Queens) and Clare Grant (Hanky Panky).

Mack Williams (Archer, The Get Down) of Pig Apple and Michael Bitton (Gran Turismo, The Wheel of Tiime) of 14th Street Music have also signed on as animation director and composer, respectively.

Synopsis: Set in an idyllic 1960s American town, the film centers on a young boy named Harry, who is convinced that his dad, a chair designer, was abducted by aliens. Determined to prove his theory, Harry runs away from home and breaks into nearby Area 51, where he discovers an unlikely friend brought to life by radiation from atomic testing … a talking office chair named Swiv. When Swiv is taken by the U.S. Army, Harry must team up with a wise old recliner and a sarcastic ottoman to save his new friend and all of chair-kind from being destroyed at the hands of the maniacal General Frank Holtzman.

Everyone in this world has a perfect nuclear family except for Harry — who will learn that “family” comes in all shapes, sizes, and ergonomic options.

Harry and the Mutant Mid-Century Furniture is directed by Skolnick and written and produced by Skolnick, Keegan Cotton, Jordan Lewandowski and Seth Morton. The film is currently in production and is expected to wrap sometime in 2025. Worldwide distribution rights are currently available and those conversations are ongoing.

Stephanie Beatriz is repped by Authentic Talent and Literary Management and CAA. Tim Meadows is repped by Brillstein Entertainment Partners and Reliant Talent Agency. Michael Skolnick is repped by Frankfurt Kurnit Klein & Selz.
