‘Velma’ S2 Key Art Promises More Meddling & Mystery on Max

Following its soft announcement at the beginning of the month, Max has officially announced the release of Velma Season 2 on Thursday, April 25 with the debut of new key art. The 10-episode second season of the Max Original, an adult-targeted 2D series inspired by Scooby-Doo, is produced by Warner Bros. Animation.

S2 Logline: When an even spookier mystery grips Crystal Cove, Velma (Mindy Kaling) must find a way to balance her detective work with the demands of her newfound popularity before it’s too late. Meanwhile, her faithful friends Daphne (Constance Wu), Norville (Sam Richardson) and Fred (Glenn Howerton) are powerless to help thanks to their own personal battles and worse … Detention.

Additional voice cast for S2 includes Russell Peters (The Indian Detective), Melissa Fumero (Brooklyn Nine-Nine), Sarayu Blue (Expats), Jane Lynch (Glee), Wanda Sykes (The Upshaws), Cherry Jones (Transparent), Frank Welker (Scooby-Doo franchise voice of Scooby and Fred), Nicole Byer (Rugrats [2021]), Gary Cole (Office Space), Andia Winslow (A League of Their Own [2022]) and Sara Ramirez (Grey’s Anatomy).

Velma is developed by two-time Emmy winner Charlie Grandy (The Daily Show, SNL, The Office, The Mindy Project); executive produced by Grandy, Kaling, Howard Klein and Elijah Aron; and co-executive produced by Jessica Kumai Scott. Amy Winfrey is supervising producer; Kandace Reuter and Rick Williams are producers; Moss Perricone and Greg Gallant are co-producers.
