The contest will celebrate and the designers and makers of Star Wars — as well as Star Wars fan-enthusiasts across the galaxy — while recognizing the longstanding collaboration with Autodesk.
Starting today, May the 4th, fans can go to autodesk.com/droid to submit their own designs for a chance to win special prizes including:
- A Mechanical Grand Prize winning droid which will be fabricated and put on display at Lucasfilm, where the winner will also get a VIP tour as well as a meet-and-greet session with a Lucasfilm executive.
- The winner of the Animated Grand Prize will have their droid digitally showcased at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, get a VIP tour of the studio, and receive a 3D-printed version of their droid to keep.
The contest closes on June 4 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Winners will be announced on June 18.
Autodesk software was also used to design and make the newest, soon-to-be-loved Star Wars droid, who will be introduced to fans in the highly anticipated series, The Acolyte, streaming June 4 on Disney+.
