Make way for the Toughest Fairy in the Universe! In tonight’s new episode of the just-premiered Nickelodeon animated series The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish — a contemporary return to the world of The Fairly OddParents, created by Butch Hartman (2001-2017) — Cosmo, Wanda and their new wishful charge Hazel come face to abs with “Da Rules” enforcer himself, Jorgen Von Strangle!
Episode 2, “The Department of Magical Violations,” airs today (Tuesday, May 21) at 4:30 p.m. ET/PT on Nickelodeon.
First introduced in the Oh Yeah! Cartoons short The Fairly OddParents in The Temp! (1999) before bowing in the full show’s first season episode “A Wish Too Far!” (2001), Jorgen Von Strangle is the Fairy World’s answer to Van Damme and Schwarzenegger — a camo-wearing, flat-top-rocking beefmeister who serves as the commander of the Fairy godparents. He is voiced by Daran Norris (who also plays Cosmo).
The sneak-peek clip provided to Animation Magazine also introduces Cookie, the most efficient Fairy godparent in Fairy World — who was originally assigned to Hazel before Cosmo and Wanda stepped in! The character is voiced by guest star Jenelle Lynn Randall (Clarence, Trick or Treat Scooby-Doo!, Starfield video game).
Series synopsis: Ten-year-old Hazel Wells has just moved to the big city of Dimmadelphia because of her dad’s new job. On top of being in an unfamiliar environment, it’s the first time she’s been without her brother, Antony, who’s just left for college, leaving her lonely and unsure of herself. All that changes when the pink-and-green-haired neighbors next door reveal that they are no ordinary neighbors … they’re Cosmo and Wanda, Fairy Godparents! And they’re coming out of retirement to make all of Hazel’s wishes come true.
The Fairly OddParents: A New Wish stars Ashleigh Crystal Hairston (Tiny Toons Looniversity, Craig of the Creek) as Hazel Wells, joining The Fairly OddParents alums Daran Norris (The Loud House, The Proud Family: Louder and Prouder) as Cosmo and Susanne Blakeslee (The Loud House, Amphibia) as Wanda.
The series is produced by Nickelodeon Animation, Butch Hartman’s Billionfold Inc. and Fred Seibert’s FredFilms. Seibert (Adventure Time) and Hartman (The Fairly OddParents, Danny Phantom) serve as executive producers; co-executive producers are David Stone (Teen Titans Go!), Lindsay Katai (Infinity Train), Ashleigh Crystal Hairston and Daniel Abramovici (The Peanuts Movie).
