Xilam Dives in Fresh Waters with New Animated Show, ‘Submarine Jim’

Oscar-nominated French animation studio Xilam (I Lost My Body) is getting ready to dive underwater with a new adventure-comedy series titled Submarine Jim. The show, which has already been sold to  European broadcasters France Télévisions (France) and Super RTL (Germany), is created by Frédéric Martin (Oggy Oggy) and targets kids, ages 6 to 9. The 52 x 11-minute 2D animated series follows the adventures of a naïve young Dolphin named Jim who is put in charge of navigating the first-ever submarine on wheels! Jim is joined by his motley crew of underwater buddies as they journey across land and sea.

Wait…and that’s not all. The synopsis continues, “Their water-filled tube has left the ocean to seek out an unlikely destination, the pristine waters of ‘Fishland.’ Luckily, with no set route in sight, their journey promises to be a long and winding one. Along the way, as they embark on their mission and navigate plenty of twists, Jim will be torn between his captain responsibilities and fun times with his best friends: Bianca, the daring orca and the ever-reliable ship steward, Cyril the anchovy. Together, they navigate the choppy waters of friendship and self-discovery!”

“We’re excited to be working with the highly talented Fred Martin once again,” says Marc du Pontavice, founder and CEO at Xilam Animation. “He has a remarkable track record in crafting comedy for global audiences, and we all instantly loved his concept for Submarine Jim. It’s a pure, laugh-out-loud funny series that builds on our long-standing experience in the comedy space, and we know it will appeal to kids and families all over the world.”

Among other recent shows found in Xilam’s catalog are  Buddy Bot, Piggy Builders, My Life in Varsailles, Lupin’s Tales and Athleticus. The studio is also producing the animation for Zack Snyder’s upcoming Netflix show Twilight of the Gods. Nominated for an Oscar (I Lost My Hand), Xilam Animation has studios in Paris, Angouleme, Lyon and Ho Chi Minh City.
