Buckle up for more Mogwai mischief and mayhem this fall. Max announced today that the second season of Warner Bros. Animation and Amblin TV’s popular Gremlins: The Wild Batch will land on the streamer this fall. The news was released in conjunction with the 40th anniversary of the original Gremlins movie on June 8.
The second season of the charming show will follow Gizmo, Sam, and Elle as they travel from their home in Shanghai to San Francisco, bringing even more magic, mystery and Mogwai mayhem. Yes, there’s a new brood of evil Mogwai, and our heroes journey deep into the American West, coming up against new supernatural creatures and picking up a few mysterious characters along the way. Returning series regulars Ming-Na Wen, James Hong, BD Wong, Izaac Wang, AJ LoCascio and Gabrielle Nevaeh will be joined by an all-star guest cast to be announced at a later date.
The first ten-episode season of the show which was titled Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai debuted on Max in May of 2023. Steven Spielberg serves as executive producer, along with Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey, presidents of Amblin Television, and Sam Register, president, Warner Bros. Animation and Cartoon Network Studios. Tze Chun is the showrunner and executive producer. Brendan Hay is executive producer with Dan Krall serving as supervising producer. Joe Dante is consulting producer on the show.
