Bugs Bunny Reports on the Olympics in New Eurosports Looney Tunes Collab

Looney Tunes star Bugs Bunny is charting a new career course as an animated guest reporter for Eurosport’s Olympic Games coverage this summer. The new hybrid show Sports Talk with Bugs Bunny premiered today, featuring an interview with Eurosport reporter and double Olympic taekwondo medalist Lutalo Muhammad.

Based in a secret location in the center of Paris, Bugs takes on the role of guest reporter, interviewing current athletes from all over the globe as well as Eurosport’s cast of Olympic experts during the Games, with the content forming part of Eurosport’s daily local shows that will air across Europe.

This new collaboration follows Looney Tunes’ previous team-up with Eurosport and the Olympics, Looney Tunes: Sports Made Simple, featured in Eurosport’s weekly Power of the Olympics program. Each episode is re-airing at relevant moments during coverage of the 2024 Games. The 90-second clips include the 4 x 100m relay, tennis, mountain biking, breaking, beach volleyball and gymnastics.

“Our ambition for our coverage of Paris 2024 is for it to be fresh, fun and engaging,” said Scott Young, Group SVP of Content, Production & Business Operations at WBD Sports Europe. “Bugs is an iconic character who transcends sport and I am sure his inimitable style will keep our guests on their toes and bring a little joy to those who love sport and love being entertained.”

Last week it was announced that the Looney Tunes characters would be ambassadors for Warner Bros. Discovery at this year’s Olympic Games, with the public able to take part in a series of activities between July 27 and August 11, including a meet and greet with Bugs Bunny and Lola Bunny at the Parc Georges Valbon and Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, Paris.

By integrating the famous Looney Tunes franchise into coverage and on-site activities in Paris, Warner Bros. Discovery, aims to reach a wider audience and attract new fans.

Warner Bros. Discovery’s coverage of the Opening Ceremony starts on the evening of Friday,  July 26 (check local listings) and will be available to watch across its linear and digital platforms. Eurosport, Max and discovery+ are the only place to watch every moment of Paris 2024. Max is available across the Nordics, Iberia, Central and Eastern Europe, and will be the only place to watch Paris 2024 in the markets where Max is available. discovery+ is the streaming platform for Germany, Italy and the U.K.
