A new take on Takara Tomy’s Beyblade franchise will be spinning its way to Disney XD this Saturday (July 13). BEYBLADE X will also premiere in Canada on Cartoon Network Canada, Disney XD Canada, and Teletoon, and in Australia on 9Go this July. In addition, the show will also stream on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally with batches of multi-language episodes slated for later this year.
The manga has been serialized in Shogakukan’s children’s manga magazine CoroCoroComic since May 2023. Here’s the new series’ synopsis:
“Amateur Blader Robin Kazami finds himself out of a team when he is ditched by his friends after a crushing defeat. Lucky for him, a chance encounter with former champ Jaxon Cross leads these two unlikely teammates to join forces. Jaxon intends to climb back to the top of The X under the alias “Blader X” and challenge his old teammate and current champ, Khrome Ryugu. When they find a third team member in mega-popular influencer Multi Nana-iro, the newly formed Team Persona set their sights on going pro and claiming their spot at the top.”
The series was produced by OLM Team Masuda, and directed by Katsuhito Akiyama and Moto Terada. It’s licensed by ADK Emotions NY and T-Licensing. BEYBLADE X (40 x 20-minutes) first debuted on TXN (TV Tokyo) in October 2023.
Beyblade is a line of spinning-top toys first developed by Takara and introduced in Japan in 1999. The first animated series based on the property premiered on TV Tokyo in 2001. BEYBLADE X is the 17th incarnation of the series.
