Powerhouse Characters Pinkfong & Molang Team Up in New Shorts

Millimages and The Pinkfong Company (Baby Shark) announce the first collaboration between their iconic characters Molang and Pinkfong. In two newly launched animated shorts, the globally renowned characters will crossover into each other’s universe for the first time ever in a friendship-themed adventure honoring the summer of sporting events in France.

“The collaboration between these two trendy and cute intellectual properties marks the beginning of a magical and exciting new chapter for both our characters and companies. This spontaneous, and organic partnership makes perfect sense,” said Kévin Maintrot, Head of Digital Strategy, Millimages. “By connecting in real life and brainstorming with open minds, we have developed a shared vision and goal of co-creating engaging content and expanding our reach to diverse audiences. In today’s self-centered and inauthentic digital landscape, we need more partnerships like this to share meaningful values and continue to innovate in the digital media world.”

Jieun Lee, Team Lead of Short-Form Content Strategy, The Pinkfong Company, said, “We are thrilled to bring together two beloved icons, Pinkfong and Molang, in a fun and magical collaboration that celebrates friendship and the spirit of summer sports. Collaborating with a like-minded partner is truly meaningful to us, and we can’t wait for fans of both characters to enjoy this new adventure in a fun and exciting way.”

The two animated shorts premiered on July 15 and 17 on the @Pinkfong and @MolangCartoon platforms, respectively. In the first video, “First Meeting Up” (18 seconds) Pinkfong and Molang finally meet! As they joyfully bounce around their magical worlds they suddenly collide in a burst of joy. A rainbow of colors breaks boundaries and a new friendship begins. In “Playing Games” (28 seconds), the new friends are set to face off in friendly sports challenges (in a nod to summer events in Paris), all leading up to a dazzling firework show in front of the Eiffel Tower.

The shorts are produced by The Pinkfong Company. With nearly 200 million subscribers on YouTube, Pinkfong has expanded beyond the screen, entertaining fans and families in 244 countries and territories through its animated TV series, movies, international live tour and more. To celebrate the partnership with Molang, the special playlists of sports-themed videos are now available on Pinkfong’s English and French YouTube channels.

Millimages, has produced six seasons of Molang’s preschool TV series aired in 190 countries. The character also boasts 30 billion views on GIPHY; 8.8 million social media followers; a Gen Z-targeted webseries; and 18 international licensing agents. Also known as The Ambassador of Kindness, Molang was recently recognized for these values at the 2024 France Licensing Day & Licensing International Awards, where it won the CSR Initiative of the Year award for the “Molang Safe Space” media campaign, launched in 2023 against cyberbullying.
