Animation, VFX, VP & VR Hub Elysium Studios Launches in Australia

Experienced creative executives Lucy Markovich and Peter Divers have launched a brand-new collaborative, full-service creative hub, Elysium Studios, with a focus on leveraging innovation and technology to deliver transmedia content and ‘transform the art of storytelling.’ Chief Executive Officer Markovich and Chief Content Officer & Head of VFX Divers will be joined by Dr. Jordan Beth Vincent as Chief Operating Officer and Hugh Frames as Chief Financial Officer.

With studio operations on Australia’s Gold Coast and an office in Brisbane, Elysium’s core business will be virtual production, real-time 3D animation, motion capture, VFX and XR which will be produced and delivered via its proprietary software systems. Elysium will offer a full production and post production service that is accessible, fast and financially efficient from development through to screen, including the spin-off of ancillary brand and IP experiences such as live events/activations, mobile apps, games and immersive media.

The newly minted studio is currently working on several projects with Queensland-based producers as well as developing its own slate of kids & family live-action and animation IP, and is actively working on global co-production partnerships. Elysium recently delivered virtual production camera tracking for Bronte Pictures’ feature film Beast of War, and is developing two co-productions with Ireland’s Tri Moon Films.

Lucy Markovich is a creative industries leader, producer and post-production producer of award-winning content with over 30 years’ experience internationally. She is responsible for the vision and strategic direction of Elysium Studios and holds qualifications in finance, marketing, and journalism as well as costume design. Previously Executive Producer at Collider, Luminous Pictures and most recently Chop Shop Post, where she oversaw the post-production and delivery of Bluey for Ludo Studio, as well as a slate of animated features for Universal Studios and creature features for Altitude.

Peter Divers is a highly sought-after expert in animation, CGI and VFX with over 20 years’ experience working across projects such as Wonder Woman, Kingsman 2, Alien: Covenant, The Hobbit trilogy and Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Divers was the co-founder of Fika Entertainment and creator of the Deakin University, Deakin Motion Lab’s real-time animation and VFX pipeline, and creator of Fika’s proprietary workflow systems. He is responsible for the development of Elysium Studios’ proprietary workflows and systems, and its virtual production, animation, VFX and XR capabilities.

Hugh Frames is an accomplished business executive with a distinguished global career and proven track record of leading organizations to exceptional achievements. He was previously Chief Operating Officer at BPay Group and held various positions in Sony across Europe and ANZ and is responsible for the financial management, governance, risk, legal, project services and information security at Elysium Studios.

Dr. Jordan Beth Vincent directed research at Deakin University’s Deakin Motion Lab and was the co-founder of Fika Entertainment. She developed the process behind the Fika pipeline, focusing on research commercialisation and industry development and was the post production producer on two seasons of Teletubbies Go! for WildBrain and Mattel’s American Girl series, as well as projects for Coolabi, Hasbro Entertainment and the ABC. Formerly a senior lecturer and researcher at Deakin University and the University of Melbourne, she is responsible for the operational systems and management of Elysium Studios proprietary systems.
