Next week, a new Max Original adult animated special will bring a twisted tale of comedy-terror to screens in Velma: This Halloween Needs to Be More Special. The seasonal treat set in the Scooby-Doo-inspired world of Velma debuts Thursday, October 3, produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
Logline: With just 24 hours to bring Velma back, the friends search for a dark spell book while trying to avoid the wrath of a vengeful spirit. But as the annual Sexy Halloween party nears, Velma and the gang must face their biggest fears… if they all want to make it out alive.
Series stars Mindy Kaling (Velma), Glenn Howerton (Fred), Sam Richardson (Norville) and Constance Wu (Daphne) are joined by returning voices Russell Peters (Velma’s father, Aman), Sarayu Blue (Velma’s mother, Diya), Jane Lynch (Daphne’s mom, Donna), Wanda Sykes (Daphne’s mom, Linda), Frank Welker (Fred’s dad, William), Nicole Byer (Norville’s mom, Blythe), Gary Cole (Norville’s father, Lamont), Andia Winslow (Gigi), Sara Ramirez (Amber), Fortune Feimster (Olive), Jennifer Hale (Thorn), Jason Mantzoukas (Scrappy-Doo), Debby Ryan (Krista) and Kulap Vilaysack (Lola), as well as Succession‘s Nicholas Braun, actor-comedian Richard Kind and Grammy nominated hip-hop artist Saweetie.
