Cheeky Little Media & Sinking Ship Introduce Animated BFFs ‘Flower & Flour’

Australia’s Cheeky Little Media and Canada’s Sinking Ship Entertainment (SSE) announce their co-production on a new animated series, Flower & Flour, for children aged four to seven years old. Created by Dan Mansour, the 39 x 7’series follows the whimsical adventures of seven-year-old Flower and her best friend, Flour the cat.

Flower & Flour is a buddy comedy about friendship and the joy of discovering the world that’s waiting on your doorstep. Set in an urban neighborhood, the show emphasizes the importance of inclusivity, kindness, and understanding and that with a little fun and imagination we can transform our world into something better.

The show is inspired by Mansour’s and his wife Romy’s childhood experiences, with many of the adventures drawing from Romy’s upbringing in her family’s restaurant, which serves as the inspiration for the show’s central setting — The Dumpling House.

“We’ve loved the development journey with creator Dan Mansour on Flower & Flour,” said Patrick Egerton, Chief Content Officer at Cheeky Little Media “The show concept and characters are straight from the heart and come from lived experience. It’s rare to have a show that is so joyous and authentic, but somehow cool as well. We’re so excited to be co-producing with the good folks at Sinking Ship.”

Carla De Jong, Head of Co-Production and International Partnerships for Sinking Ship Entertainment, added, “We’ve admired Cheeky Little Media and their wonderful collection of shows for a long time. We’ve been eager to collaborate with them, and as soon as they introduced us to Flower & Flour, we were captivated. These lovable characters bring such a perfect blend of humor and charm that we knew we had found the ideal project to work on together.”

For Cheeky Little Media, Flower & Flour joins the studio’s lineup of multi-season animated hits like Vegesaurs and Kangaroo Beach, produced for ABC in Australia as well as many other networks around the world.

This series also expands SSE’s growing portfolio of animated productions. It follows the global success of Builder Brothers Dream Factory, produced for Corus in Canada, and their animation service work on Saving Bikini Bottom: The Sandy Cheeks Movie, currently streaming on Netflix. The SSE team is leading the 3D animation for this project, which originally started in 2D.

Flower & Flour is scheduled to debut in 2026. Broadcast partners include ABC in Australia, TVOkids, SRC and Knowledge Network in Canada. Developed and produced in association with the ABC and partners, with major funding support provided by Screen Australia, the Canadian Media Fund and the Shaw Rocket Fund with digital and visual effects supported by Screen NSW. SSE will distribute the series worldwide in association with HOPR Media with Cheeky Little Commercial managing the brand globally.

The series is created by Dan Mansour, directed by Cindy Sharka and written by Mansour, Wendy Hanna, Amy Stewart and Lawrence Leung, with Sam Carroll as script editor. Producers are Celine Goetz and Blair Powers; executive producers are Matthew J.R Bishop, Carla De Jong, Patrick Egerton, Celine Goetz, Blair Powers, Asher Bogart and Chris DiFiore.
