A team of multi-award-winning animation veterans have joined forces to produce Enormous, a new CG-animated short film written and created by actor, writer, musician, comedian, and social media personality Stephen Kramer Glickman (Big Time Rush, Storks). The eight-minute short is inspired by Glickman’s personal journey of overcoming depression with the help of his dog’s love.
Synopsis: Stephen, a man devastated after a breakup with his girlfriend, sinks into depression with only his pug, Jelly Donut, to keep him company in his empty house. In a story twist, Jelly Donut finds an unexpected way to help Stephen rediscover joy and begin to care for himself again.
The voice cast is led by the legendary actor, comedian and filmmaker Mel Brooks and Spencer Grammer (Rick and Morty, Greek), alongside other talents soon to be announced.
“I am extremely grateful to the icon that is Mel Brooks and to all of my talented colleagues who have come together to help make this passion project of mine a reality,” said Glickman. “I hope this little film with a huge heart inspires many who are going through life’s challenges to find joy again.”
The creative team behind Enormous includes director Doug Sweetland (Toy Story, Cars, Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo), producer Jackson Lewis (LEGO Ninjago, LEGO Batman, Storks), art director Sylvain Deboissy (A Goofy Movie, Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Surf’s Up, How to Train Your Dragon), editor Chris Cartagena (Happy Feet, Storks, Space Jam: A New Legacy) and director of photography Cortney Armitage (Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, Cars, Ratatouille).
Enormous has been officially greenlit and is scheduled for delivery in summer 2025. Cookbook Media co-founder Claudia Scott-Hansen will attend MIPCOM (October 18–22) to initiate discussions with broadcasters and distribution partners.
“In a world with so many challenges, stories like Stephen’s hope-filled Enormous are very much needed, and I am honored to introduce this beautiful short to potential partners at the MIPCOM market this year,” said Scott-Hansen.
Demente Animation Studio in Guadalajara, Mexico (Thomas & Friends, Hello Kitty, Night of the Animated Dead), led by CEO Carlos Gaxiola, will handle pre-production on Enormous. The CG animation will be produced by Digitoonz in Noida and Kolkata, India (Fright Krewe, 100% Wolf, Dora), under the leadership of founder and CEO Vikas Kumar.
The film is executive produced by Stephen Kramer Glickman, Claudia Scott-Hansen, Doug Sweetland, Kevin Salter, Carlos Gaxiola, Vikas Kumar, Alexandra Rosenberg (VP of Digitoonz Production) and Maontosh Kumar (Head of Digitoonz Production).
