Studio 100 Unveils New Animation Projects for MIPCOM, AFM

Heading into the fall content markets, Studio 100 International has extended its development efforts by forming strategic partnerships with co-production partners and studios. The company will present a dynamic slate of animated TV series currently in development at MIPCOM in Cannes. Meanwhile, Studio 100 Film is gearing up for American Film Market with a wide-ranging lineup of family-friendly animated features with a global audience in mind.

MIPCOM

As previously announced, Jungle Book: Cub Club Adventures, currently in early development with production partner Gaumont Animation and in collaboration with I Josh Around will be among the highlights of the company’s new originals. Studio 100 International will also showcase three additional captivating animation series that promise to engage and entertain young audiences and their families:

Another co-production project with Gaumont, and German production company bigchild Entertainment, is Ash (26 x 26 min.), a modern twist on the Cinderella story. This comedy adventure follows 13-year-old Ash, who suddenly discovers she has magical powers. The young teen embarks on a quest to find the magical hazelnut wand to reunite her family and to save the whole kingdom from dark magic.

Set in a world somewhere out of time and place, the show has a decidedly modern & edgy perspective and is filled with quirky animals, out of control magic, lots of physical comedy and Ash sharing her emotions with the audience breaking the fourth wall. Targeted at children aged 6-9 and their families the series celebrates self-empowerment and finding your place in the world.

Sir Myka – The Podcraft Knight

Sir Myka – The Podcraft Knight (52 x 11′) marks the studio’s first collaboration with Karrot Entertainment, the production studio behind Sarah & Duck and current producer of Peppa Pig.

Created in-house by Karrot, the series takes audiences on a fantastical adventure in a world of animal knights and castles. Young knight Sir Myka and his friends create the most exciting inventions to improve the lives of everyone in the kingdom by harnessing the powers of Pod Blokz, sustainable building blocks growing in the wild.

WE R SNKRZ

Marking another first, in conjunction with Gigglebug Entertainment, Studio 100 International is co-developing WE R SNKRZ (52 x 11′) for school aged kids. The adventure comedy is set in a tech-dependent future world and follows three friends and their robot sidekick. With their love for sneakers (SNKRZ) and a determination to embrace human creativity, the group shows that innovation beats automation every time.

“We are excited to share this diverse lineup of upcoming animated series at MIPCOM and MIPJunior,” said Dorian Buehr, Head of Global Distribution at Studio 100 International. “From the magical empowerment of ’Ash’ to the futuristic adventures of ‘WE R SNKRZ’ and the inventive spirit of ‘Sir Myka – The Podcraft Knight,’ we believe these shows will appeal to our clients and young audiences worldwide.”

In a series of comical mishaps, they inadvertently save the meadow and become the most unlikely heroes of all!

Arnie and Barney are voiced by Shane Dundas and David Collins, a.k.a. The Umbilical Brothers, a renowned international comedy duo. Miss Moxy

Miss Moxy – A Journey of Friendship and Discovery

Inspired by a true story, this family film follows Miss Moxy, a domesticated cat that gets lost during a summer holiday in Southern France. She embarks on a turbulent odyssey across Europe to return home, learning valuable life lessons along the way and befriending the most despicable creatures a cat can imagine: A dog and a bird.

Directed by Vincent Bal (The Zigzag Kid) and Wip Vernooij, the screenplay was written by Maureen Verspille. Produced by Phanta Animation, BosBros, with co-producers Eyeworks Film & TV Drama and AVROTROS, the movie will available early 2025.

North

North – A Magical Winter Adventure

This family adventure is inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Snow Queen” and a true European take on this fairy tale, following a young girl named Gerda on a perilous mission to save her best friend Kai from the Snow Queen’s icy grip.

North is produced by Haakon Gundersen (Flight of the Navigator, Free Jimmy) and directed by the critically acclaimed fantasy author Bente Lohne, who also wrote the screenplay. Joining the project as consulting producer is Ralph Guggenheim, the producer of the Academy Award-winning Toy Story and co-founder of Pixar Animation. The talented team of animators, composers, and sound designers aims to bring the breathtaking beauty of Norwegian landscapes to life on the big screen, alongside a vision of the Snow Queen’s magical realm.

Produced by PictoryLand AS and Anima Vitae, known for its works like Niko – Beyond the Northern Lights and Moominvalley, North will have its world premiere in November 2025 and will be released by Norsk Filmdistribution in the Nordic market.

Heidi Rescue of the Lynx

Heidi – Rescue of the Lynx – A Tale of Nature and Compassion

This brand-new animated film stays true to the spirit of the original work and its characters. Coming up with a new storyline about the famous little girl from the Swiss Alps, the film combines all the qualities of a positive heroine while touching on environmental topics for a global and modern audience. When Heidi saves a lynx family and their home from a greedy businessman, she realizes that these animals belong in the wild just as she belongs with her grandfather in the mountains.

This truly heartwarming adventure was created by screenwriter Rob Sprackling (Gnomeo & Juliet, The Queen’s Corgi) and is produced by Studio 100 International, Studio Isar Animation, 3 Doubles Producciones and Hotel Hungaria Animation. The movie is scheduled for release in July 2025.

But when a wayward wish transforms him into a werewolf and deposits a mischievous moon sprite on earth, Freddy must restore the cosmic order before earth and moon collide! Oops! One thing’s for sure — Freddy will never question being a poodle again!

Written by Fin Edquist (100% Wolf, Maya the Bee movie trilogy) and produced by Flying Bark Productions, Siamese, 200 Wolf La Pelicula and Screen Australia, the movie is already available.
