Viva Pictures Offers First-Look at Critter Creepshow ‘Night of the Zoopocalypse’

Appropriate for the Halloween season, Viva Pictures has revealed a sneak peek at Night of the Zoopocalypse, a CG-animated family comedy based on a story concept from horror master Clive Barker (Hellraiser, Nightbreed, Books of Blood). Introduced to global buyers at AFM last year by Anton and Charades, the European co-pro will make its world premiere at Sitges this weekend, with a March 7, 2025 release set for the U.S. (Viva) and Canada (Elevation Pictures).

Night of the Zoopocalypse unleashes mutant chaos after a meteor crashes into Colepepper Zoo, unleashing a virus that transforms the animals into slobbering zombie mutants. It’s up to a gruff mountain lion named Dan (voiced by David Harbour) and a quirky young wolf named Gracie (Gabbi Kosmidis) as they lead the charge to save their zoo from destruction with a rag-tag team of animal companions.

The English-language voice cast also features Pierre Simpson as Xavier the movie-obsessed lemur, Heather Loreto as Frida the feisty capybara, Scott Thompson as Ash the sarcastic ostrich, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Felix the treacherous monkey and Bryn McCauley as the mutant’s deranged leader, “Bunny Zero.”

Night of the Zoopocalypse is directed by animation veterans Ricardo Curtis (The Angry Birds Movie, The Incredibles, The Iron Giant) and Rodrigo Perez-Castro (Ferdinand, Ice Age: Collision Course, The Book of Life), who are also co-founder and head of creative for pre-production studio House of Cool (The Peanuts Movie, Despicable Me and Ice Age franchises).

Zoopocalypse was produced by Copperheart Entertainment and co-produced by Charades Productions, U Media and IDL Films, in association with House of Cool.
