‘Animal Crackers 2’ Will Bring Audiences Back to the Big Top in 2026 (Exclusive)

BlueDream Studios (U.S.), and Melies Producciones and Plano Sujetivo (Spain), have greenlighted the production of Animal Crackers 2 for a Q4 2026 Release. The sequel to the 2017 Animal Crackers movie, which featured a star-studded voice cast including John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Danny De Vito, Ian Mckellen and  Sylvester Stallone, is set to start production in Q1 2025 at B Water Studios (Spain).

Helmed by returning Animal Crackers directors Scott Christian Sava and Jaime Maestro, Animal Crackers 2 will focus on Owen and Zoe, the circus owners, who leave their daughter Mackenzie and their circus in the hands of Chesterfield the Clown to secure a global cookie distribution deal — and chaos ensues. Mackenzie turns into a monkey during her high-wire act, losing her human form and her magic cookie. In a desperate attempt to save her, the entire circus embarks on a quest to find the source of magic that can reverse the transformation and bring Mackenzie back to her family.

The film is produced by Sava at BlueDream Studios in association with Cristobal Rodriguez and Nestor F. Dennis at Melies Producciones, Luis Millán and José David Díaz at Plano Sujetivo, and BWater Studios. Executive producers John Fessler at Side Street Studios and Scott Huneryeger at Zazarev Motion Pictures. Max Czertok at Iuvit Media Sales brokered the deal assisting the venture.

BlueDream is also planning to kick off production in Q2 2026 on its new IP, Pet Robots, aiming for a Q4 2028 release. Also directed by Sava and Maestro, the story centers on four students who get lost during a field trip to the Rooty Tooty Toy Company, and are followed home by four military robots: Skye, Rock, Aqua and Wind. But the owner of the toy company wants his robots back, and he’s willing to do anything to get them.

Iuvit Media Sales is representing Animal Crackers 2 and Pet Robots for worldwide sales at the AFM in Las Vegas.Iuvit’s slate at the AFM also includes the family drama Harmony, action thriller Stand Your Ground, sci-fi project Tug of War, horror pic Stay Safe and social thriller The Estate.
