Germany-based film sales co. Epsilon Film has secured multiple territory distribution for two European-produced animated features at AFM this week.
Directed by Toby Genkel (The Amazing Maurice, Paul McCartney’s High in the Clouds) from a script by Keiron Self & Giles New (The Canterville Ghost, Animal Farm) and produced by Ulysses Filmproduktion (Germany) in co-production with Space Age Films (U.K.) with animation by Hamburg’s Studio Rakete, the animal art museum adventure Mimi & Harold – Out of Frame has sold to:

Due for delivery in 2027, Mimi & Harold – Out of Frame will be released in Germany by DCM.
Synopsis: When Mimi, a scrappy crossbreed dog, falls out of a painting of old, she is lost in the real world of a museum, the home of Harold, an art-loving but snobbish dog. Armed only with her determination and Harold‘s friendship, Mimi recklessly jumps into paintings to find her beloved owner — and Harold becomes the hero he never dreamt of being.
Meanwhile, the popular Franco-Belgian comic-book hero returns in Brave Heart Yakari. The second big-screen animated feature starring Derib & Job’s creation is written and directed by Xavier Giacometti, building on his work on the Yakari animated series and the first movie, Yakari, A Spectacular Journey. The film is produced by Dargaud Media (France), Belvision (Belgium) and France 3 Cinema, with animation by Ellipse in France, part of Média-Participations Group. Brave Heart Yakari has sold to:

The sequel is due for release in 2026 and will open in France through BAC Films.
Synopsis: Yakari, the little Sioux, wants to save his injured friend Buffalo-Seed. While Rainbow tries to heal their friend, Yakari gallops with Little Thunder to the far reaches of Sioux territory to seek help from the only being capable of awakening him: Buffalo-Seed’s totem, the fearsome giant bison Thathanka!
