Feathers fly in the family-friendly CG animated adventure Goldbeak, coming to On Demand and Digital platforms from Lionsgate on January 28.
Synopsis: After a little eagle named Goldbeak loses his parents, a kindhearted family of chickens adopts him as one of their own. Struggling to fit in — and to fly — the high-spirited young bird soon realizes that there is a great big world out there, and he must spread his wings if he is going to reach his full potential. Joined by his courageous sister, Ratchet, Goldbeak sets out on a breathtaking adventure to Avian City, soaring to new heights with the discovery that family is worth fighting for.
The film is directed by Irish animator and filmmaker Nigel W. Tierney — who has directed and produced numerous Bad Bunny music videos as well as Little Dicky’s “Earth” and Jaden Smith’s “Goku” as well as executive producing the short Gloomy Eyes and serving as a TD on DreamWorks’ Captain Underpants, Kung Fu Panda 3, How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Croods and Shrek Forever After. Dong Long, chief director of producing studio Liangzi Film (China), also helmed the project.
Goldbeak features the voices of David Henrie (Wizards of Waverly Place, How I Met Your Mother) as Goldbeak and streamer/YouTuber Rachell Hofstetter (a.k.a. Valkyrae) as Ratchet.
