‘Sakamoto Days’ Strikes Netflix on January 11 (New Trailer)

Netflix announced today that Sakamoto Days, the new anime series based on the popular retired hit man manga by Yuto Suzuki, will make its mark with a January 11 premiere. One new Part 1 episode will roll out each week (11 total), with Part 2 of Season 1 due to debut in July 2025.

Synopsis: Taro Sakamoto used to be an unrivaled hitman, earning legendary status in the underworld. But one day, the unthinkable happened. Sakamoto fell in love. He started dating, retired, got married, and had a kid, growing overweight as a result. Though now working as a humble convenience store owner, the world of hitmen still follows him. Sakamoto, along with Shin, a young man with telepathy and an employee at his small store, will protect his humble life and family, or die trying.

The Japanese voice cast is led by Tomokazu Sugita (Taro Sakamoto), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Shin Asakura), Ayane Sakura (Lu Shaotang), Nao Toyama (Aoi Sakamoto), Hina Kino (Hana Sakamoto), Ryota Suzuki (Heisuke Mashimo), Natsuki Hanae (Nagumo), Taku Yashiro (Shishiba) and Saori Hayami (Osaragi).

The Sakamoto Days anime series is produced by TMS Entertainment (Lupin the 3rd, Dr. Stone, Baki). Masaki Watanabe (KADO: The Right Answer, Bartender, Battle Spirits franchise) directs, with series composition by Taku Kishimoto. Suzuki’s original manga illustrations were adapted by character designers Yo Moriyama.

Written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki, the Sakamoto Days manga currently serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump, running since 2020.
