BAFTA Awards Reveal Longlists with Animated Contenders for Multiple Categories

Ahead of the 2025 EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony on Sunday, February 16, the organizers have announced the longlisted films that will advance to the nominating stage of voting, selected from a total of 235 films submitted for consideration.

Notably this year, animated features have burst the bounds of their dedicated category to show up not only in the children’s film competition, but in longlists for Outstanding British Film (Aardman/Netflix’s Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl), Film Not in English Language (Gints Zilbalodis’ Flow) and Original Score (DreamWorks’ The Wild Robot).

Round Two voting, to determine the nominations, opens today at 6 p.m. GMT to BAFTA’s voting members and will close on Friday 10 January 2025 at 6 p.m. GMT. The nominees will be announced Wednesday, January 15 via the BAFTA YouTube channel.
