Kaboom Animation Festival Unveils Full Lineup

Organizers of The Netherlands’ Academy Award-qualifying Kaboom Animation Festival (kaboomfestival.nl) have announced the program for the 2025 edition, which will be held March 21-30 in Amsterdam, Utrecht and online.

Kaboom Industry Days will take place March 25-26 at the HKU, Oudenoord, Utrecht. The first day focuses on fresh animation talent and a practical introduction to the industry: Kaboom Camp, whereas the second day is devoted to all animation professionals, to share successes, address challenges and explore future paths: Kaboom PRO. With a strong focus on co-production, Kaboom PRO is the go-to event for Dutch and international animation professionals. This year introduces a pilot version of the Benelux Animation Pitch made possible by CFAP, aimed at strengthening and consolidating talent from the region.

The festival’s Official Selection of films this year will present 165 films and VR projects across nine categories. Kaboom Animation Festival is an Academy Awards qualifying festival, offering a shot at the Oscar to the winner of the international Best Short Film competition as well as the Best Dutch Short Film prize.
