Lion Forge Ent. Boosts International Animation Sales Slate with ‘Spookley,’ ‘Wingfeather Saga’

Lion Forge Entertainment’s Global Media Sales division, led by Kirsten Newlands and Jonathan Abraham, announced today it will exclusively handle international sales rights for a slate of children’s animated projects, strengthening the studio’s position in worldwide content distribution.

“We’re excited to continue growing our portfolio with incredible partners like Holiday Hill Farm, Angel Studios, and Shining Isle Productions,” commented Founder & CEO David Steward II. “By bringing titles like The Wingfeather Saga and Spookley the Square Pumpkin to international audiences, we’re not only expanding our global footprint but also offering families around the world stories that resonate with heart, adventure, and meaningful lessons.”

The Wingfeather Saga

Among the new titles being shopped by Lion Forge Entertainment are The Wingfeather Saga, an action-adventure fantasy series from Angel Studios and Shining Isle Productions, based on the book series by Andrew Peterson.

The three-season series (19 x 22′) is designed for children ages 6-11 co-viewing, and follows the thrilling journey of the Igiby family as they uncover secrets of their family history, flee the evil Fangs of Dang and seek their place in the world. Using their special gifts, along with the love of their noble mother and ex-pirate grandfather, they survive venomous fangs, sea dragons, flabbits, and toothy cows along the way.

Additionally, Lion Forge has secured international distribution rights to two 45-minute specials from Holiday Hill Farm, aimed at children ages 3-7. The first is Spookley the Square Pumpkin, a Halloween special in which Spookley is teased because of his unusual shape until a mighty storm threatens the patch and he discovers that different can make all the difference in the world.

In the second special, Spookley and the Christmas Kittens, Spookley and his friends come together to help a green cat named Mistletoe and three stray kittens find a home, teaching viewers the importance of kindness and doing the right thing.

Lion Forge Entertainment is an Emmy-winning, Black-owned studio and creator of Hair Love, which won an Academy Award for Best Animated Short. The studio is also behind the highly anticipated series Iyanu, launching in the U.S., U.K., and across Africa this spring. Other Lion Forge projects include a Hair Love spinoff series, Young Love, for Max; Rise Up, Sing Out, executive produced by Grammy-winning artists Tariq “Black Thought” Trotter and Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, for Disney; and Marley and the Family Band, an animated series based on Cedella Marley’s picture book of the same title; franchise development of Sarah Mlynowski’s Best Wishes book series; and a live-action adaptation of Secret Society of Rebel Girls.
