iam8bit has partnered with WaterTower Music and Rebecca Sugar, the creator of Steven Universe, to expand the vinyl collection themed around the beloved Cartoon Network Studios series with the Steven Universe: The Movie 4xLP Vinyl Set.
In addition, iam8bit is preparing a special vinyl re-release of Sugar’s personal work with the Spiral Bound 10” Vinyl.
Pre-orders for both items begin January 30, with pre-orders closing on February 27. The Crystal Gems will begin teleporting items through warp pads across the galaxy in Q3 2025.
As a hard-to-find fan favorite upon its initial release, iam8bit is excited to give fans a second chance at owning the Steven Universe: The Movie soundtrack collection on vinyl. With original music produced by series mainstays aivi & surasshu and a host of new songs performed by the film’s cast, written by Sugar in collaboration with guest songwriters like Chance The Rapper, James Fauntleroy, Ted Leo, Mike Krol and more, this vinyl set is a must-own for fans of the series.
This re-issue reformats the original 12” deluxe release down to 10” discs on Spinel Black Ice, Grape, Milky Clear and Ruby vinyl. The original album art returns, but this time, embellished with additional embossments and foiling to make it more in-line with iam8bit’s soundtrack release around the main television series.
Inspired by three years of journaling with themes of regret, forgiveness, rest, and respite, Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugars’ Spiral Bound EP chronicles the gentle, arduous process of healing from extreme burnout and unresolved trauma.
This album previously saw a limited release, but iam8bit’s re-issue includes more personal touches around Sugar’s journey with an eraser pink vinyl disc that’s in line with the album’s core journaling origins. On top of that, Sugar is also providing new and original artwork with this re-issue with an inky-blue aesthetic that aims to call to mind moments of self-reflection and creativity.
