‘Dragon,’ Pixar, Disney Top 3D Society Creative Arts Awards

How to Train Your Dragon, Pixar and Disney were the big winners at the second annual International 3D Society Creative Arts Awards.

DreamWorks Animation’s How to Train Your Dragon won as the best animated 3D feature of the year, also winning best 3D stereography – animation and the 3D talent award for Jay Baruchel, who voiced Hiccup in the film.

For Pixar, Toy Story 3 won the People’s Choice Award for favorite 3D animated movie, while Day & Night won best short 3D motion picture.

Disney’s Tron: Legacy took the honors for live-action 3D feature of the year and best 3D stereography – live action, and the animated feature Tangled won best 3D scene of the year. Disney’s Alice in Wonderland won outstanding achievement of 2D to 3D converted feature.

The ceremony was hosted by Tom Cavanaugh, who starred in the 3D hybrid feature Yogi Bear, and held at Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Hollywood. The ceremony was recorded — in 3D, of course — and will be broadcast soon in a two-hour special on 3net.
