FremantleMedia Kids & Family Entertainment animated series Ella the Elephant and Grojband will premiere on U.K. kids channels Tiny Pop and Pop this month.
“Pop’s new Freeview platform makes them a key new player in U.K. children’s broadcasting,” says Joss Duffield, VP Distribution & Sales for FremantleMedia Kids. “We’re delighted to see two of our stand-out shows launch on Pop and Tiny Pop.”
Produced by DHX Media in association with FremantleMedia and TVO Kids, Ella the Elephant (52 x 11) follows the adventures of sweet, kind and generous Ella. She loves to play and explore Elephant Islands with her friends Tiki, Frankie and Belinda, but her adventurous exploits and attempts to help others don’t always go to plan — but with a little imagination, teamwork, and her magic hat, Ella manages to save the day. The show has already launched on Disney Channel and Disney Junior in the U.S. and been sold to over 50 territories, including ABC (Australia), Disney Junior (Latin America), TVO and Knowledge Network (Canada) and Clan (Spain). A master toy deal is in the works for the U.S.
Grojband (26 x 30), the musical comedy for kids 6-11 from Teletoon and Fresh TV, follows cool-as-a-cucumber Corey and his three best friends as they struggle to rocket their garage band to international stardom. When they realize their lack of creativity is getting in the way, Corey hits the jackpot when he stumbles on his drama-queen sister Trina’s diary — the ultimate lyrical inspiration. The show recently launched on ABC3 in Australia and has also aired on Cartoon Network in the U.S. and Latin America.
