Margaret Loesch Stepping Down as Hub CEO

Founding CEO and president of Hub Network Margaret Loesch has announced she will step away from her post at the end of the year. She will be leaving behind the hit shows she helped build up over the last few years, such as My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic.

“After five years at the Hub Network as its founding President & CEO, I am announcing that I will be leaving at the end of the year when my contract expires,” Loesch says in the official statement. “I am very proud of the work we have done and the accomplishments we have achieved at the Hub. The network is now in excellent financial shape, its ratings are up year-to-year, our programming has won more than 30 awards, including 12 Daytime Emmys, and the Hub Network has become a TV home for quality programming that kids and their families come together to enjoy.”

Loesch went on to say she will work closely with Hub’s parent companies Discovery and Hasbro to ease the transition — no replacement was named at the time. Having been in the business over four decades, Loesch will leave behind some pretty big shoes to fill.

Prior to signing up with Hub, Loesch was the first president and CEO of Crown Media U.S., and helped create its cable network Hallmark Channel. She was also president of televisions, worldwide, for the Jim Henson Group, where she executive produced Bear in the Big Blue House. Her resume also includes posts as founding president and CEO of Fox Kids Network and in the same role at Marvel Productions, where she exec produced series like Jim Henson’s Muppet Babies, Transformers, G.I. Joe and Spider-Man and His Amazing Friends, and oversaw a tenfold increase in revenue.
