9 Story Limited has announced that ZM Capital and former DHX Media principle and Decode Ent. co-founder Neil Court have made an equity investment in the company, with Court becoming its Executive Chairman. The investment is being made through ZM Capital II, the latest private equity fund of New York-based investment firm ZelnickMedia. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Vince Commisso continues on as President & CEO and will report to a newly formed board of directors. 9 Story’s existing management team will also continue leading the company, while Court embarks on his Exec Chairman duties from the U.K.
Based in Canada, the 12-year-old 9 Story is a leading creator, producer and distributor of kids’ content around the world. Its Toronto-based studio employs over 220 creative and production staff. High profile programs in 9 Story’s catalog include animation hits Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Almost Naked Animals and Camp Lakebottom.
