Lord and Miller Writing ‘Lego Movie’ Sequel

The LEGO Movie scripters and directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller have officially signed on to write the sequel.

The collaborators, who also wrote and directed Sony’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs but only wrote the story and were executive producers on the sequel, have not yet committed to directing The LEGO Movie sequel.

Warner Bros. has already set The LEGO Movie sequel for a May 26, 2017, release. Dan Lin and Roy Lee are producing with Lord and Miller, and Jill Wilfert, Matt Ashton, Chris McKay and Kara Lord Piersimoni are executive producers. WB’s Greg Silverman, Courtenay Valenti and Chris Defaria are overseeing.
