Following last September’s announcement of the first three animated titles based on former NFL star Trevor Pryce’s An Army of Frogs book, Splash Entertainment (through co-CEOs Nicolas Atlan and Mike Young) and Outlook Company principal Pryce have announced plans for three additional animated mini-series movies in the Kulipari: Army of Frogs franchise.
Newly announced titles include Kulipari: The Rainbow Serpent (66 min.) and Kulipari: Amphibians End I & II (2 x 66 min.) — based on the third book in the series coming out this summer from Abrams Books. Splash is handling distribution for all six of the Kulipari movies. The first is slated for completion this July, followed by Army of Frogs II and III wrapping up in September and October.
Born out of Pryce’s childhood fear of frogs, Kulipari takes place in a fantasy version of the Australian outback where the peaceful amphibians are attacked by an army of scorpions and spiders, and must turn to an unlikely hero to save them all from certain extinction.
Outlook company will also be launching a mobile app for iOS and Android — Kulipari: Batallions — in April; in May, licensee Under Armor will release its first products for the property, and Outlook is close to finalizing a deal with a master toy partner, to be announced soon.
