Cartoon Movie Presents 2015 Tributes

With a 17th successful edition in the bag, Cartoon Movie has announced the participant-selected winners of the 2015 Cartoon Tributes — awards for outstanding contributions to the development of European animation over the last year. The honors are considered among the regional animation industry’s most prestigious prizes. This year’s winners are:

Directors of the Year: Mark Burton and Richard Starzak for Shaun the Sheep (U.K.). Produced by Aardman Animations and financed and distributed by StudioCanal.

Also nominated were Xavier Picard for Moomins on the Riviera and Tomm Moore for Song of the Sea.

Distributor of the Year: INDIE SALES (France), a Paris-based international feature film sales & co-production company specializing in commercial independent projects. The company’s current line-up includes Moomins on the Riviera, My Life as a Zucchini and Dofus – Book I.

Nominated were Agora Films (Switzerland) and Global Screen (Germany).

Producer of the Year: TeamTO (France) for Yellowbird, the Paris studio’s first feature-length animation project. Directed by Christian De Vita.

Nominated were Zeta Cinema (Spain) and Studio 100 Media (Germany).

Personality of the Year in Rhone-Alpes: Presented by the Rhone-Alpes Region to Patrick Eveno and Mickael Marin for their leadership in the internationally acclaimed Annecy International Animation Film Festival and the MIFA Market, which this year celebrates its 30th anniversary and regularly attracts more than 7,000 professionals to the idyllic town.
