Nucleus Examines Origins of ‘Home’

Artist Adam Rex, whose book The True Meaning of Smekday is the basis of the DreamWorks Animation feature Home, will appear March 28 at Gallery Nucleus in Alhambra, Calif., for an exhibition of his work and a panel celebrating the release of The Art of Home book.

The panel will feature Rex and several DreamWorks Animation artists who contributed to the film. Expected to appear are visual development artist Jason Scheier, storyboard artist Le Tang and head of story Todd Wilderman.

The panel will kick off the day’s events at 2 p.m., and will be followed by a Q&A, signings and opening reception, which will run to 8 p.m.

The exhibition will feature original artwork from The True Meaning of Smekday, as well as other original drawn and painted works on display and for sale. The exhibition will be on display to the public through April 19.
