Frederator Picks Up Two Korean Toons

Online animation destination Channel Frederator has added to its preschool-targeted offerings by picking up two titles from South Korea: cut-out/stop-motion series Cloud Bread (156 x 7; two seasons) and Pom Pom & Friends (78 x 7).

Co-produced by  China’s Cartoon, Korea’s DPS and GIMC and the U.S.’s Animotion Works, Cloud Bread is based on the illustrated children’s book by Baek Hee-na and tells the story of a brother and sister — Hongbi and Hongshi — who fly off to adventure through the magic of Cloud bread and learn important lessons. Jay Woon Jang serves as director with associate director Woody Yocum for the English-language version.

Pom Pom & Friends centers on Pom Pom, who was a stack of wood blocks until a child’s love brought him to life. Set in the world of Rainbow Hill, Pom Pom dreams of becoming a hero — but he’s still learning how the world works. Heung-Soo Park and Xiaoqun Yan serve as EPs for the series created by Jinchan Jong and Harim Jo. Wonmin Lee and Weking Zhu act as producers, while Animotion Works’ Yocum serves as supervising director with Shiren Lin and director Min Hu.
